Summer Scholars Updates - Summer 2007
Greetings Scholar Families & Friends!
Week 1
Our Summer Scholars quickly settled in on Sunday and have been busy getting accustomed to their new academic schedules and campus living! Scholars confirm that they are looking forward to challenging course-work, allowing them to step up to the next level of learning in their chosen fields. This dynamic group of students have bonded incredibly within the first few days. We had an outstanding experience at Challenge Discovery yesterday, where scholars were able to engage in a very exciting and new experience of reaching great 'heights'! We look forward to enjoying some local Richmond venues this weekend, and the scholars will prepare for another full week of academics, research and some of their first testing.
Week 2
Week 2 for our Scholars was a full one - within classrooms, labs, and through class excursions, our group engaged in learning new material in their selected courses. Scholars agree that their academic environments this July have provided them with a unique setting in which to learn more and be challenged to new levels. In addition to attending their morning and afternoon classes and labs, scholars have managed their time effectively, and with personal motivation, have achieved a balanced schedule of study time, class preparation, and extra-curricular activities. We’ve also enjoyed a bit of Richmond sightseeing and visits to local points of interest as we approach the final week of Summer Scholars 2007.
