Life on Campus
The University of Richmond is the second oldest private university
in Virginia, founded in 1830, with a beautiful campus situated on 350
acres of rolling hills and a 10-acre lake. As the University of Richmond
is located in the capital city of Virginia, students enjoy the convenience
of living in the suburbs, but having access to all that a metropolitan
area offers such as museums, theatre, outdoor venues, sporting arenas,
social clubs and shopping.
Students participating in the Summer Scholars Program will live on
the main campus and will receive access to the University’s outstanding
libraries, dining areas, sporting facilities and more. Students stay
in accommodations offering an air-conditioned room with desks, beds,
bookshelves and closets. Study lounges, laundry facilities and vending
machines are all located within the residence halls. Scholars will have
the opportunity to meet students attending other summer programs and
to engage in social activities on and off-campus.
The program meal plan provides three meals per day on weekdays with
brunch and dinner served on Saturday and Sunday. For off-campus program-related
activities meals will be provided for the students.
