Summer Studies at University of Richmond

Summer School (Updated for 2008)
Courses for all ages. The School of Continuing Studies manages Summer School for all schools of the University. Visit the Summer Schedule of Classes for details.

Summer Study Abroad (Updated for 2008)
Open to traditional and non-traditional age students. Program information, destinations, safety details, and application forms and instructions. Participants should review the Student Handbook.

Summer Scholars Program (Updated for 2008)
3-week summer residential program designed for gifted students who want to experience a real academic challenge, to earn college credit and to have fun in the process.

The Civil Rights Movement in the South (Updated for 2008)
Summer study trip visits nine southern states in 17 days through the heart of the Civil Rights Movement. Applications due February 26, 2007.

Partners in the Arts Summer Institute
Summer Institute in Arts Education for local K-12 educators. Sponsored by the Arts Council of Richmond in cooperation with the School of Continuing Studies.

D.C. Summer Internship & Career Seminar
Washington, DC Summer Internship and Alumni Career Development Seminar offers internship experience in metro DC for 2 months. Career seminar offers conversations with Richmond alumni working in the DC area.

University of Richmond Bridge to Success
Prepares first-year students to meet the rigorous demands and expectations of the University’s academic program, easing the first-year student into college living and learning.

Summer English Language Institute (ELI)
Incoming University freshmen for whom English is a second language. Provides intensive English instruction in a stimulating learning environment.

Governor's Schools for Humanities and Visual & Performing Arts
Open to gifted high school students in the humanities and the arts from throughout Virginia. Applications are available from the VA Department of Education.
